Activision Announces New Studio: Elsewhere Entertainment

May 17, 2024 by Alex Novichenko

Activision, a subsidiary of Microsoft, has unveiled Elsewhere Entertainment, a new game development studio located in Warsaw, Poland. The studio is supported by additional resources based in the United States and is composed of developers with impressive backgrounds, having worked on notable titles such as The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, Destiny, Tom Clancy’s The Division, and Far Cry.

Elsewhere Entertainment is focused on creating a new AAA narrative-driven franchise. To support this ambitious project, the studio has been granted full access to Activision’s extensive resources and tools. The studio is also actively hiring to expand its team.

The announcement of this new studio is unexpected, especially in light of Microsoft’s recent decision to shut down four other studios — Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games, and Roundhouse Games — and the layoff of 1,900 employees from its gaming division earlier this year.
