Batman: Arkham Shadow Revealed at Summer Game Fest

At the Summer Game Fest, Oculus Studios and developer Camouflaj released the first cinematic story trailer for Batman: Arkham Shadow, an upcoming Meta Quest 3-exclusive game set to launch in Fall 2024. Positioned between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum within the Arkham series, the game features Roger Craig Smith reprising his role as Batman. The narrative focuses on Batman's efforts to save public officials like Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent, kidnapped by the villain Rat King who threatens their execution within a week.

Ryan Payton, the head of Camouflaj, shared new gameplay features promising an immersive VR experience. Players can expect a blend of combo-driven combat, stealth tactics using Batman’s cape and Detective Mode, and rapid traversal across Gotham using the Grapnel gun. Unlike the open-world formats Arkham Shadow will take structural cues from Arkham Asylum, focusing on confined exploration and intense combat encounters.
