Bloober Team Announces Launch Date for Layers of Fear

Bloober Team and co-developer Anshar Studios have announced the release date for Layers of Fear, the newest installment in the popular franchise. The game will be available on June 15th, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store.

Also Bloober Team has released a new demo of Layers of Fear on Steam which will be available until May 22nd at 3pm PT and offers a glimpse into The Writer's unsettling world, the third and final protagonist of the game. Her story connects the plot threads of the previous installments. Additionally, the development team has revealed the game's intense intro cinematic, which sets the stage for the psychological terror players will face.

Layers of Fear is one of the first games to use the highly-anticipated Unreal Engine 5. This allows for Ray Tracing, HDR, and 4K resolution support, resulting in heightened visual accuracy, stunning in-game reflections, and overall immersive graphical fidelity. Lumen global illumination is used for dynamic lighting, Niagara visual effects create real-time particle effects, and Action System Controls enhance the development process and optimize gameplay mechanics. The upcoming horror chronicle aims to push the boundaries of visual storytelling in the psychological horror genre.
