Darksiders Series Returns with New Game Teaser

The Darksiders series is set to return, as revealed by a teaser at the end of THQ Nordic's 2024 showcase. The upcoming game will be the fifth in the series, following three mainline entries and one spin-off.

The teaser features the Charred Council, with flames shooting from their eyes and mouth, ending with the message: "Be Prepared To Ride Again." It doesn't specify which of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse players will control.

Previous Darksiders games featured War, Death, Fury, and Strife, each starring in their own mainline game or as playable characters in the spin-off Darksiders Genesis. Each game in the series has offered distinct gameplay styles, ranging from Zelda-like adventures to Souls-inspired challenges.

Despite the closure of original developer Vigil Games, Gunfire Games and Airship Syndicate, both founded by ex-employees, have continued to develop the series.
