Stig Asmussen, the director of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has decided to depart from Respawn Entertainment. Initially reported by Bloomberg, this information was later confirmed by EA, stating, "Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck."

Asmussen's departure comes as a surprise, as he had previously expressed his desire to turn Star Wars Jedi into a trilogy. Earlier this year, job listings suggested that a third installment might already be in development. However, the status of this project remains uncertain, and Asmussen's departure does not necessarily mean that the third part will not materialize. EA has reassured that "experienced leaders at Respawn will take on leadership roles and will oversee the team's progress on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor," indicating that the project is still on the right track.
