EA Sports Announces New Franchise EA Sports FC
EA has unveiled new information about their upcoming soccer game, EA Sports FC, which will be the first installment in a new franchise that will not include the FIFA branding. Following the termination of their partnership with the international soccer governing body last year, EA Sports FC will still feature the same or similar lineup of players, teams, and stadiums thanks to their existing licensing deals.
While more details about EA Sports FC will be announced in July, the game will be launched later this year as a "platform to create, innovate, and grow new football experiences," according to Nick Wlodyka, the head of EA Sports FC.
The game will offer matches in various popular leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, and WSL, with hundreds of leagues, teams, brands, and athletes represented. In contrast, FIFA plans to continue releasing games with their branding through third-party developers and publishers, with FIFA president Gianni Infantino claiming that their game will remain "the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name" and will be the "best one" available for fans. He added that the FIFA name is the only global, original title that will remain the constant in their future releases.
