Final Fantasy XVI PC Version Nears Completion
Director of Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki Yoshida, has indicated that the PC version of the game is nearing the end of its optimization phase.
"Regarding the current stage of development, we are ironing out the last bits of optimization," Yoshida detailed during a Game Informer interview. "The release timing for the PC version could hinge on this — specifically, finalizing the PC system requirements and specs needed by players. As it stands, the PC requirements are expected to be fairly high."
Moreover, Yoshida mentioned that a demo version for the PC is in the plans, although a specific release timeframe was not disclosed. He hinted that the release might occur sooner rather than later. "It’s not going to be very long," he remarked. "Certainly less than a year, so we ask for your patience."
Final Fantasy XVI first launched for PlayStation 5 in June 2023, with plans for a later PC release disclosed. The game received its initial DLC, Echoes of the Fallen, in December. Its subsequent expansion, The Rising Tide, set to introduce the Warden of Water and the missing Eikon, Leviathan, is anticipated to launch this spring.
