Funcom Reveals New Gameplay and Features Dune: Awakening

Norwegian game developer Funcom showcased new details and gameplay footage of their upcoming open-world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, set in the Dune universe. Highlights include a 25-minute digital showcase, a visually stunning gameplay trailer titled Survive Arrakis, and a demonstration of harsh conditions on planet Arrakis, such as extreme climate and sandworms, using Epic's Unreal Engine 5.

Funcom also discussed the survival mechanics, base-building, and unique features like sharing blueprints and learning abilities from the universe's great schools. The game, inspired by Frank Herbert's novels and Denis Villeneuve's film, does not yet have a release date but will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
