Gameplay Trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Revealed at Summer Game Fest
Square Enix concluded Summer Game Fest with a major announcement, unveiling trailer Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the FF7 rebooted trilogy. The newly released trailer showcased the iconic cast venturing beyond Midgar, following the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Familiar faces from the original FF7 made appearances, providing a nostalgic touch for fans. The game is slated for an early 2024 release.
The trailer delved into the characters' exploration of the Lifestream and their quest to unravel Sephiroth's return. It also introduced Elena, the youngest member of the Turks, adding a new dynamic to the storyline. Exciting glimpses of combat showcased the refined mechanics and the joy of traversing the world on the backs of chocobos.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was developed with a focus on diverging from the original game's storyline. Co-director Motomu Toriyama stated that Rebirth will bring even greater deviations from the established narrative, as Cloud embarks on an "unknown journey" that will conclude in the third game of the trilogy.
