Ghost of Tsushima Sequel Announced: Ghost of Yotei Coming to PS5 in 2025
Sucker Punch has officially announced a sequel to the 2020 hit Ghost of Tsushima. Titled Ghost of Yotei, the game was revealed during the September 24 State of Play and is set to launch exclusively on PS5 in 2025.
The announcement trailer showcased stunning landscapes and brief combat scenes featuring the new protagonist, Atsu, whose abilities resemble those of Jin from the original game. However, Atsu also wields new weapons not seen in Ghost of Tsushima. Voiced by Erika Ishii, known for roles in Apex Legends, Destiny 2, and Deathloop, Atsu brings a fresh dynamic to the series.
According to Sucker Punch's communications manager, Andrew Goldfarb, Ghost of Yotei is set in 1603, over 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The story unfolds in the lands around Mount Yotei in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), an untamed and dangerous region outside Japan's rule at the time. Described as a "far cry from the organized samurai clans of Tsushima," this new setting offers an original story in an expansive, wild landscape.
