Hogwarts Legacy Holds the Top Spot for Fourth Week in a Row
Hogwarts Legacy refuses to relinquish its top spot in the UK for the fourth consecutive week, despite a 30% drop in sales compared to the previous week. Metroid Prime Remastered, the second-largest physical release of the year, outpacing the remake of Dead Space and Fire Emblem Engage. Nintendo doesn't share digital sales data, so we can't know for sure how successful the game was in the UK. However, it seems that the strategy of a surprise launch was effective.
This week also saw the release of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Koei Tecmo, debuting at number eight. 96% of physical retail sales were for PlayStation platforms, although retail sales of the game are small. We'll get a better sense of its performance when digital data arrives. The latest new release on the physical chart is Scars Above from Prime Matter, which is currently at number 22.
As for last week's new releases, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe drops from three to six after sales fell 44% in a week, while Octopath Traveller 2 falls from six to 14 after a 45% sales drop. Atomic Heart fared worse, with a 69% sales drop, and the game fell from seventh to 25th.
In the rest of the Top 5, FIFA 23 drops to third place despite a 6% increase in sales, while God of War Ragnarok, which remains a popular PS5 bundle, takes fourth place with a 4% sales increase. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe remains in fifth place, with sales of the game also up 8%.
