Naughty Dog Unveils Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
At The Game Awards, Naughty Dog announced its next major project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Departing from its usual style, the game explores a grounded sci-fi future set on the perilous planet Sempiria.
The cinematic trailer introduced bounty hunter Jordan A. Mun, played by Tati Gabrielle. Taking on a risky mission despite ominous warnings, she pilots her Porsche spaceship to Sempiria, where she encounters a towering robotic adversary. While no gameplay was shown, host Geoff Keighley confirmed the footage was rendered in-engine.
According to a blog post from Naughty Dog, the game has been in development since 2020. The story follows Jordan as she becomes stranded on Sempiria and struggles to escape — a feat no one has accomplished in over 600 years. The project features a score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and hints at a role for Kumail Nanjiani.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet promises a fresh direction for the studio, blending cinematic storytelling with a bold sci-fi narrative.
