New Gameplay Footage Reveals Exciting Mechanics and Features for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Ahead of its release on the Nintendo Switch in May, Nintendo has shared 10 minutes of new gameplay footage for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma presents the in-depth preview, which reveals more about the game's world, combat, and characters.
During the gameplay footage, Link is shown using his Recall ability to reach Sky Island by rewinding time on a rock that has fallen off the airborne section of land. He hitches a ride up to the location from where the rock first fell from. The gameplay also reveals new mechanics such as Fuse, an ability that allows Link to create makeshift weapons from materials in the environment, and Ultrahand, which can be used to join objects together to create vehicles. Aonuma also demonstrates the Ascend ability, which allows Link to pass through ceilings marked by a specific symbol.
The development of the game is now complete, and it will be released on May 12, alongside a special Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch Oled Model.
