Nintendo Reveals Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition

Nintendo has announced Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, a surprise remaster of the Wii U’s action-RPG Xenoblade Chronicles X, coming to Nintendo Switch on March 20. Set on the vast, monster-filled world of Mira, players create custom characters and join BLADE, a human protection force based in New Los Angeles, using giant Skell mechs to fight the planet's dangers.

The remaster offers visual updates, expanded story content, and a new mysterious character teased in the announcement trailer. This release shocked fans, as Monolith Soft’s Tetsuya Takahashi previously cited budget constraints for a remake due to the game’s massive scope.
