Nvidia's RTX 4070 GPU has finally been released, much to the delight of PC gamers who have been eagerly anticipating a more affordable 40-series option. According to Nvidia, the RTX 4070 is 1.7x faster than its predecessor, the RTX 3070 Ti, making it ideal for players seeking 1440p gaming at a lower price point.

As previously reported, the RTX 4070 is priced at $599, significantly cheaper than other 40-series cards. It boasts RTX ray tracing support, DLSS 3, and Nvidia Reflex, but only has 12GB of video memory, which some fans have criticized.

Initial reviews of the RTX 4070 are mostly positive, although it should be noted that it may struggle with 4K gaming unless at lower settings. The card is $200 less than the RTX 4070 Ti, which is already available. Initially called the RTX 4080 12 GB, the RTX 4070 Ti was set to launch at a higher price point of $899, but consumer backlash caused Nvidia to cancel the launch.
