Paradox Interactive Cancels Life By You

June 18, 2024 by Alex Novichenko

Paradox Interactive has canceled Life By You, their anticipated life simulation game intended to compete with The Sims. Despite multiple delays, the company decided the project was unlikely to succeed.

Deputy CEO Mattias Lilja announced the decision on the Paradox forums, citing that further delays wouldn't achieve a satisfactory release.

"Though the game had promising qualities and a dedicated team, we realized more time wouldn't bring us closer to a version we were confident in," Lilja stated.

Life By You, announced in May 2023, aimed to offer an open world, real-language dialogue, and extensive customization. Originally set for early access on June 4, the game faced indefinite delays before its cancellation. The Steam page for Life By You remains up at the time of writing.
