PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan to Retire
Sony has announced that PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan is retiring in March 2024. Hiroki Totoki will become Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment in October 2023 and interim CEO on April 1, 2024, upon Ryan's retirement.
Ryan expressed gratitude for his 30-year career at Sony, while Totoki acknowledged Ryan's contributions and the successful launch of the PlayStation 5. Under Ryan's leadership, Sony saw the successful launch of the PS5, a reversal of decisions regarding PS3 and PS Vita digital storefronts, and a focus on games-as-a-service titles. Ryan also oversaw significant acquisitions, including Insomniac Games, Bungie, and Housemarque.
