The Game Concord Has Been Fully Unveiled
Sony has officially introduced Concord, a new live-service game from Firewalk Studios, during a PlayStation State of Play event. Scheduled for release on PS5 and PC on August 23, the game will first be accessible through a beta in July.
The unveiling featured a story trailer that showcased the game’s universe and characters, set against a sci-fi backdrop with a variety of alien species. The characters are equipped with unique abilities, such as robotic legs for enhanced jumping and skin with diamond-like resilience to withstand more damage. The game includes factions like the Freegunners, who resemble witty mercenaries akin to the characters in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Concord is a team-based, 5v5 shooter where players control distinct heroes, each with their own arsenal and special powers. It draws inspiration from other hero shooters like Overwatch 2, with players competing in different strategic game modes. Innovative features in the game include durable healing pads and trip mines that remain active through multiple deaths and rounds. At its launch, Concord will feature 16 characters, and Firewalk has plans to regularly introduce new characters, storylines, modes, and more content.
