Volition, Developer of Saints Row, Announces Closure

Volition, the game developer known for series like Saints Row and Red Faction, has officially announced its closure after 30 years of operation. This decision comes as a result of the ongoing restructuring program within its parent company, Embracer Group. When Embracer Group initially revealed its restructuring plans, it included layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations as part of its strategy.

Volition took to LinkedIn to share this sad news and expressed its willingness to assist affected developers in finding new employment opportunities. In a heartfelt statement, the studio expressed gratitude to its global community of customers and fans, emphasizing that their unwavering love and support will always be cherished.

As of 2021, the Volition team consisted of over 230 employees who made significant contributions to the gaming world.
